Great Questions Regarding Wsop
http://bit.ly/qg7Cqy

Sandra asks?

How can i start a home tournement to get to the WSOP? There's a great system i heard about. anyone?

Home poker tourney information that will lead the winner to the WSOP with spending money. I heard about one through the grapevine.

Larry McCann answers:

It's just simple math. You need to raise $13,000. This will cover the $10,000 buy in, a hotel for the week, and the flight.

So take the number of players you have, consider the number of times you want to meet each week, and count how many tournaments you have time to have between now and the WSOP.

So for example if there were 20 weeks to go and 10 players:

$13,000 / 20 / 10 = $65 buy in per tournament.

In each tournament award 5 points for first, 3 for second and 2 for third place. At the end of the 20 weeks, the person with the most points gets the money to go to the WSOP.

Consider too that there are much smaller events than the main event. So you might decide to award several prizes for the $1,500 events or satellite events.

Carol asks?

How do I get tickets to go and watch a pro poker tournament like WSOP?

I want to go and watch some live poker, obviously any WSOP would be my ideal but I really want to see some poker stars play live! I want to be one of those people in the background when you watch it on tv, is this possible?!

Larry McCann answers:

Here are some upcoming WSOP events give'm a call tell them frank sent you

Chris asks?

Why is the WSOP main event final table played in November?

Why is the WSOP main event final table played in November? More than 65 days after the day it gets down to 9? Is it going to be live on TV or something?

Larry McCann answers:

ESPN wanted them to do it, so they can show all the other event from that year. So that when the time comes for the November 9 to play ESPN would have caught up with them.

Basically, so espn can show the Main Event final table just days after it happens.

Nancy asks?

How does one qualify for the WSOP Main Event?

What is the qualifying process one must go through to make the WSOP Main Event? I realize the minimum age is 21 and I am 19 now but I want to try sometime in my life and I just want to know what the process is. Where can I go to qualify online or perhaps in person?
So if I had a spare $10,000 I would just have to pay that and automatically be in?

Larry McCann answers:

You can either pay the entry fee ($10000) out of pocket. Or you can win it through a satellite. Which is where you pay a smaller amount to enter for a chance to win your entry fee. This is very popular online as well as in casinos in Vegas (or everywhere really). You can possibly qualify for a few dollars online. But due to US Govt regulations, the online poker sites now will just transfer your entry fee into your account. So it is up to you to actually use the money for the WSOP or something else. Linda asks?

Business advice? what is meant by a premium? please read on!?

I was looking at a take away businesses for rent in the local paper. It came to my attention that as well as rent, a ?20,000 premium had been listed on the business. Is any one aware of what this premium is please? is it a one of premium or something that has to be payed yearly? any ideas on what this premium is meant to cover?

I would like to at some point in the future open up a business in the food and catering industry, im was just looking at general prices and research and came across a a unheard concept! :-)

Thank you for reading!

Larry McCann answers:

Yes, the premium is a one-off charge. It's supposed to be some sort of valuation of the business you're taking on. There may be SAV as well - stock at value.

Contact your local Business Link for free help on starting your business. They're particularly good on catering businesses.

Good luck!

Jenny asks?

What is the difference between the ford mustang v6 and v6 premium?

can you list all of the differences? and what they mean? like what is the 6-gauge cluster with MyColor? thanks.

Larry McCann answers:

The V6 Premium offers a lot of visual and electronic upgrades including leather seats, an aluminum and leather wrapped steering wheel, bright aluminum gas/brake/clutch pedals, a gloss painted center stack, chrome speaker surrounds, and upgraded 17 inch machined aluminum wheels. As for the electronics, the premium adds an auto-dimming rear view mirror, sirius satellite radio (with 6 free months), SYNC, the upgraded Shaker 500 8-speaker audio system, and the special MyColor gauge. Right off the bat, the MyColor gauge add a battery meter and oil pressure meter to the standard speedometer, tach, fuel and temperature. The MyColor part lets you customize the color of the lights on pretty much everything in the car, you can pick from somewhere around 125 hues for the gauge background, the needle, the ambient lighting in the foot-wells and the cup holders, and even the illuminated word "Mustang" on the door scuff plates.

Mandy asks?

I was recommended a diet product, and I was wondering if anyone had info or results on the diet pill Lipoplex?

Two people had recommended me this product. I became suspicious when each person gave me a link to the same product, but with different link titles. Both these people told me the trial was free and I only had to pay S&H ($5 or $6). While I was researching the pill I found out if you ordered the product, you'd automatically be put on the "premium consumer list", which meant your credit card would be paying the full price (about $100) if you didn't cancel the order within 14 days. So two questions and a message: does lipoplex work? is it a scam? and beware if it is a scam of these links (http://bit.ly/pyYPsDo http://bit.ly/pZjP4go). Thanks!

Larry McCann answers:

By the way you're describing your experience with the price, it seems like a scam to me. You shouldn't be taking diet pills anyways, it's bad for your health.

George asks?

If you drive an Infiniti G35 between the years of 2000 to 2007 what kind of gas do you use?

Im looking to purchase a 2005 G35 now and im trying to figure out what kind of gas i need to use so that i avoid problems with the car. The cars specs lists "premium unleaded fuel tank" which would mean that i would be paying for the most expensive gas every time i filled up? Would this car really make me trouble if i filled up 87 or 89?

Larry McCann answers:

The coupe needs premium, the sedan wants premium. Over the long term the 87 will damage the coupe due to spark knock and injector wear.

Paul asks?

Premium Bedding?

Saw a listing in a hotel brochure that says "PREMIUM BEDDING". Anyone know what they mean?

Larry McCann answers:

Premium bedding would refer (i believe) To the thread count of the sheets, standard bedding is about 180 -200 thread count (that refers to the number of threads in the weave of the fabric),the higher the thread count the more comfortable the sheets, 400 - 500 to me is nice, but 800 is really nice to slide into. 1000 , to me gets a little stiff until washed about 10 times. Try it!, even go into a high end department stores linen section and ask the sales person to show you the difference.

James asks?

Life insurance question - term life and term life with return of premium?

Hello, my spouse and I are in the market for life insurance now. After some researching, we have pretty much decided to go with term or term return of premium insurance. I still have following to decide and if you could enlighten me on these I would appreciate it very much.

Which company?

I found the following list that's supposed to be the best life insurance companies at this website.

http://bit.ly/oXquG

* New York Life: A++, stable outlook
* Mass Mutual: A++, stable outlook
* State Farm: A++, stable outlook
* Geico: A++, stable outlook

Does this mean I should probably check out these companies? We have State Farm for auto and home insurance. Would State Farm be a good way to go (convenient to have all three in one place)? I also thought Geico didn't offer life insurance. I was led to LifeQuotes page from Geico. Does this mean that this list is not reliable?

How much?

We are 40-45 years old, just We still have almost 30 years of mortgage, and 20 years of raising our son. I was using some calculator online (Kiplinger, Life Foundation?) to calculate how much coverage I need, and they both returned figures like 1+ million. How can this be? Is 1 million life insurance common these days?

We have about 170,000 in remaining mortgage balance (actually I only included half of that in calculation), and I calculated monthly living expense to be 2,000-3,000 (depending on if our child is still with us)/month with my spouse's income to be 2,000/month, and also included college cost. Does this seem reasonable that this will add up to be million dollars in 30 years, with inflation? I was thinking of about 300,000-400,000 before using these calculators.

Term or Term ROP?

We have almost decided against Term ROP and to go with straight term, but are not final on this decision. What do you all think about ROP? With ROP, do we typically actually receive ALL of the premium, or are there any fees etc. subtracted from the refunded amount? Also, does ROP term insurance give you investment returns in addition to the amount of premium you paid? One of the reasons that we are leaning towards straight term is that with our current age, with 20-30 year policies, the likelihood we?ll actually be using the ?death benefit? would be moderately high ? then ROP won?t be such a good deal, as well as hearing that if we just get term and invest the difference in the premium, we?d be ahead of term ROP.

How long?

In this case, should we try to get a 20 year term (for while our son will be with us), or 30 year term, just to cover the full length of the mortgage, although I wouldn?t need that much coverage towards the end of 30 years (our son will be with us for only 20 more years, our mortgage will be paid off except for last 10 years or so)? Or buy 25 year return of premium term policy and pay 5 more years of mortgage using the money we receive from return of premium? Or buy two term policies - a large amount of 20 year policy plus a smaller amount (to cover the remaining mortgage balance in the last 10 years of mortgage)?

Thank you for your help!
Also, would we be able to buy term insurance online from these companies, and have guaranteed conversion and renewal (are these the two things I need?) (when purchased online)? - without going in to the agent's office or having an agent come to the office? One visit for health assessment is fine. We just can't have that many appointments while comparison shopping.

Thanks!
InsurancePickle.com, are you referring to State Farm or Geico when you say not to buy life insurance from a auto insurance company? Could you (or someone else) tell me what would be the disadvantage if I did? Thank you!
To all respondents: Please give me guidance on how to find an insurance agent (not tied to a specific insurance company). Would an online agent like Lifequotes.com, where I can talk to a live person if I'd like by calling an 800 number, be OK?

Larry McCann answers:

You can locate an independent agent by typing in your zip code at the agent locator tab, at www.iiaba.net, to answer your last question first. Sorry, I'm hitting them in opposite order! Online life insurance agents are going to deal with many areas of the country, and probably won't be as familiar with LOCAL options, as a LOCAL agent. Plus, you might get shuffled around the call center, to get to an agent licensed in YOUR state.

I'm not Pickle, but I can tell you State Farm has some of the HIGHEST life insurance rates around. They JUST aren't very competitive.

A million dollars is reasonable.

Regarding those four companies that popped up at the top of the list, sure, check them out - but all it means, is that they PAID to be shown at the top of the list. That's pretty much what you're going to run into, with online rate comparison sites - you'll be steered towards the company that pays the webmaster best.

When you buy insurance online, you can usually do the entire transaction by mail, except for the paramedical exam. And you won't get that, until you've PICKED an insurance company, submitted an application, along with a deposit amount. THEN they'll "verify" your rate for you.

I'm not a fan of ROP term, and I think I explained that in a prior question, in detail.

Look, if you want an "online" experience, I had a pretty good one, at Zander Insurance, and they're licensed in all 50 states. But you've got enough questions and concerns, that honestly, wouldn't you like to be able to develop a relationship with ONE agent that has an office near you, where you can drop by if you have questions or problems? Additionally, with young children involved, maybe it might be worth it to spring for a fee based financial planner, instead, who ISN'T going to try to sell you anything, and will give you TRULY unbiased advice.

Great Questions Regarding Premium List Dog Shows http://bit.ly/pEnfaP Charles asks…What is a fun run at dog shows?I'm planning in showing in conformation&juniors at a Shawnee, OK show. On the premium list it said "All-breed fun run" What is that?
http://bit.ly/nUkrdY#page=16
That's where it said.
I thought it had to do with loure-coursing.
So can i do it with a papillon?
I am not calling, I have very bad social problems.Larry McCann answers:Actually it specifically refers to lure coursing. A fun run in this situation would be where any breed (even not sight hounds) can run - for fun - typically there is a fee.

Indian Nations Basenji Club are good folks. If you have a question call the name and phone number related to that.Donna asks…AKC Show Premium List - confusing? So, I'm showing in the bred-by class, and I was looking through the premium list and it said this:

"FRIDAY - BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR
BREED•GROUP•BEST IN SHOW
Competition is offered for dogs & bitches entered and exhibited in the bred-by-exhibitor classes to
compete for Best of Breed Bred-By-Exhibitor through Best in Show Bred-By-Exhibitor. Dogs that win
Best of Breed or Best of Winners in the regular conformation classes are automatically Best of Breed Bred-By-Exhibitor."

When they say "Dogs that win Best of Breed or Best of Winners in the regular conformation classes are automatically Best of Breed Bred-By-Exhibitor" I really get confused there... I know they mean any dog that gets BOW/BOB from the BRED-BY class is auto. best Bred-By. But, at first anyone could probably think "If a dog or b!tch from the American Bred or Open class goes BOW or BOB it is automatically best Bred-By"

So, my question, if anyone could get confused on that, why do they have it worded like that? Why don't they say "If a dog or b!tch goes BOW or BOB from the bred-by class, it is best Bred-By"?
I haven't shown under any of these judges yet, and I'm just showing in bred-by Friday and Puppy Saturday for the dogs' experience.Larry McCann answers:They worded it very poorly. What a silly mistake.

But, maybe most people are like me, and barely read premiums. I flip it open, skip to judges, decide if I like the judges or not, and that's about it. XD

Add:
Well, good luck. Hope you bring some points home.Mandy asks…In which of the following would you find information such as directions to a local dog show?A) Show catalog
B) AKC registration
C) Premium list
D) The AKC GazetteLarry McCann answers:It is normally in the show scheduleBetty asks…Is there some kind of list that insurance companies use (for home insurance).....?to rate breeds of dogs before issuing a policy to you? Is this listed on line? I have some friends that have Pits and Rotties and their insurance it higher because of the dogs they own...but these dogs are wonderful, no aggression issues and they have obedience, CD, CGC titles for their dogs...

I have a Husky and a Bernese Mtn dog...are these breeds on the 'bad' list?

If your breed is listed on the 'bad' list, shouldn't the insurance company look at the 'dog' itself instead of the breed? Why should I pay a higher premium if my dog has Obedience, Show titles etc...Should the insurance companies at least LOOK at the titles that the dogs have? The AKC doesn't just 'hand' out titles to dogs. They have to EARN them thru hard work between the owner and dog.

Your thoughts?Larry McCann answers:It is a shame, but it seems to be a case of the "good" owners having to pay because of the "bad" owners. I can understand the insurance company's refusal to consider AKC titles because it's not the AKC that will have to pay a claim if a situation arises...William asks…Do you think breeder contracts are fair? So, I've been looking for a puppy and I've noticed that a lot of breeders now make you sign a contract. Some of them are great because they simply list things such as the puppy will be well-cared for, not abused, and if the owner gives up the puppy at any time, the breeder gets him/her back. A lot also have spay-neuter contracts for dogs who will be strictly pets, which isn't too bad. But I've noticed others are pretty demanding. Some restrict the foods you can feed it. I've even seen one that listed several "premium" foods you couldn't use and some of them even make you agree to an all-natural diet. Others mandate that you name the dog like "Kennels' dog," which seems a little ridiculous. I mean, the dog is mine now, not theirs anymore. Why should I name him/her as if he's theirs, especially if he'll just be a pet and not a show dog or a breeder? So what are your thoughts on these contracts? Do you think they are fair? What parts do you agree/disagree with?
Oh and don't worry, I don't plan on buying a puppy from any of them. I'm just curious to see if everyone thinks some of the contracts (and breeders) are a little crazy like I do.Larry McCann answers:Every breeder is different. As a breeder of Standard Poodles, I wanted my clients to agree to the first 3 things you listed.
The food issue is to make sure your pup is getting all the nutrients it needs for healthy growth. The all natural diet is for your pets health. You should feed your pup as you like, however foods that have many "fillers" are not good for your dog. Plus you have more yard waste. I usually give samples of CANIDAE with my pups. It is an all natural diet including chicken, rice and vitamins, that's it. Your dog doesn't need extra fillers that could cause allergies, etc.
The "kennel name" thing is one I never insisted on yet I would explain it to my clients. What they mean by the name is when you register the dog with the AKC, you also get your dog's lineage. For example, My kennel name is "Dallion". So you have thirty spaces on the form you send in to give the dog a paper name. So maybe a client would decide on a favorable name such as "Dallion's Cleopatra". They would have selected the name based on the breeding line. In one instance they did call the female "Cleo". But you can decide what to name your dog. The pedigree is to show the lineage with the AKC and nothing more. I just purchased a new pup from Ohio. He came from High Hope Acres. So I named him
High Hope's Merlin's Magic. He goes by Merlin.
So don't worry about the name. Once you get the papers, it will be up to you. It's just that if the dog comes from a long line of Champions in the ring and you give him the Kennel name, it also proves what line he comes from. I hope this helps!Powered by Yahoo! Answers
Great Questions Regarding Premium List Dog Shows
http://bit.ly/pEnfaP

Charles asks?

What is a fun run at dog shows?

I'm planning in showing in conformation&juniors at a Shawnee, OK show. On the premium list it said "All-breed fun run" What is that?
http://bit.ly/nUkrdY#page=16
That's where it said.
I thought it had to do with loure-coursing.
So can i do it with a papillon?
I am not calling, I have very bad social problems.

Larry McCann answers:

Actually it specifically refers to lure coursing. A fun run in this situation would be where any breed (even not sight hounds) can run - for fun - typically there is a fee.

Indian Nations Basenji Club are good folks. If you have a question call the name and phone number related to that.

Donna asks?

AKC Show Premium List - confusing?

So, I'm showing in the bred-by class, and I was looking through the premium list and it said this:

"FRIDAY - BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR
BREED?GROUP?BEST IN SHOW
Competition is offered for dogs & bitches entered and exhibited in the bred-by-exhibitor classes to
compete for Best of Breed Bred-By-Exhibitor through Best in Show Bred-By-Exhibitor.

I haven't shown under any of these judges yet, and I'm just showing in bred-by Friday and Puppy Saturday for the dogs' experience.

Larry McCann answers:

They worded it very poorly. What a silly mistake.

But, maybe most people are like me, and barely read premiums. I flip it open, skip to judges, decide if I like the judges or not, and that's about it. XD

Add:
Well, good luck. Hope you bring some points home.

Mandy asks?

In which of the following would you find information such as directions to a local dog show?

A) Show catalog
B) AKC registration
C) Premium list
D) The AKC Gazette

Larry McCann answers:

It is normally in the show schedule

Betty asks?

Is there some kind of list that insurance companies use (for home insurance).....?

to rate breeds of dogs before issuing a policy to you?

Your thoughts?

Larry McCann answers:

It is a shame, but it seems to be a case of the "good" owners having to pay because of the "bad" owners. I can understand the insurance company's refusal to consider AKC titles because it's not the AKC that will have to pay a claim if a situation arises...

William asks?

Do you think breeder contracts are fair?

I'm just curious to see if everyone thinks some of the contracts (and breeders) are a little crazy like I do.

Larry McCann answers:

Every breeder is different.
Sandra asks?

how much can i sell my old laptop for?

what would get me the most, but not be too high to scare anyone off.

its an HP

120 GB hardrive
Windows XP Media Center Edition, Vista premium ready

Only problem is the power jack needs to be fixed ( $120-180) and the battery is also weak and a few of the keys stick and stuff.

How much should I list it for?
thanks!

Larry McCann answers:

Since it needs fixes, sell it $100 less than you got it. What year is it? If it's older than 5 years, you might not even be able to sell it. People don't like old computers. :)

Both are nice, i like choice one though, has more hard drive space, webcam.. But, if tight on money, choice two would work for you. ~

Nancy asks?

Steam games won't launch?

I've had Steam for a while and none of my games will launch. I only have two games, TF2 and L4D2. I can't get either of them to work, and even downloaded other game demos to figure out if it was Valve, and those demos didn't work either. I found a work-around for L4D2 (copying the exe from the Steam folder to the desktop) But it seems TF2 needs to be launched from Steam, so any methods you could list would be appreciated.

Specs:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel(R) HD Graphics (Core i3)
Realtek High Definition Audio
6144MB RAM
DirectX 11
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU
System Manufacturer: Gateway
Model #: DX4831

Let me know if I forgot anything.
This is a new install of steam.
Things I've tried:
Un-installing and re-installing steam.
Un-installing and re-installing my games.
Deleting the .blob file
Allowing it full access to my computer
Defragmenting everything
Verifying the integrity of my game cache

It's probably a problem with steam, since I can still play L4D2 perfectly without using steam, but I need a fix so I can play TF2.

Larry McCann answers:

Did you recently upgrade to Win7, or was this a new install?

Have you deleted local content, and reinstalled?

[EDIT: "I tried all that gibbedy jab."

Then you need to ask on the Steam forums. Apparently its i really easy to trip up their installer...
