Great Questions Regarding Difference Between Origins
http://bit.ly/pfVgYo

Carol asks?

What is the difference between origin and evolution?

Larry McCann answers:

Origin is where the central point comes from, i believe you mean creation and that is supposed to be a divine presence formed what we know today.

Evolution is where we have come from single celled entities to what we are today.

Joseph asks?

whats the difference between dragon age origins digital deluxe edition and the regular one?

Larry McCann answers:

The Digital Deluxe edition includes the game's original soundtrack and desktop wallpapers in digital form, as well as all the free DLC content of the Collectors' Edition (not in the UK version), plus a code to download the Warden's Keep DLC for free.

Richard asks?

What is the difference between origin of life, evolution and the theory of natural selection?

Larry McCann answers:

Origin of Life: Where it started what cause us to even be able to evolve and live.
Evolution: the process that causes new species.
Natural Selection: The Driving factor of Evolution. It causes evolution.

Maria asks?

What's the difference between Origin Forme Giratina and Altered Forme? (Pokemon)?

All I see is that Origin Forme has the ability Levitate. What else changes? Also, I can't view bulbapedia

Larry McCann answers:

Hi there :)

Well for starters, Origin Forme has a different look from Altered Forme, but the true differences is that Origin Forme has a higher ATT base than the Altered Forme, but the Altered Forme has a slightly higher Def base than the Altered Forme. In my opionion, if you want a powerful wall (and probably the strongest physical wall in the game), go with Altered Forme giratina, if you want a decent tank (good ATT and Def), go with the Origin Forme, but note that the Origin Forme cannot hold a useful item like choice band or life orb because its already holding the item that keeps it in Origin Forme, so go with Altered Forme

Hope this helps :)

Great Questions Regarding Turbo Business
http://bit.ly/oDa69f

Daniel asks?

Is Turbo Tax Home and Business worth the extra money for me?

I have my own business (sole proprietor). It generates less than $10k per year and has no employees. I utilize deductions for home office, vehicle expenses and general office product expenses but that is about it. Is it worth buying the Turbo Tax Home Business or can I get away with buying the Deluxe version?

Larry McCann answers:

The important thing is that you get the right answer, and one that you can depend on. The Home Business program provides more hand-holding for those needing business guidance. A business with 10k of revenue often has as many issues as one with 200k in revenue.
So the answer is... It depends on your needs.

Carol asks?

In Turbo Tax Business what is the difference between reporting a "wash" equity sale as a cost or a loss?

If a tax payer is operating a day trading business what is the easiest way to report gains and/or losses in Turbotax Business if the broker is not on the import list? Is filing on paper the only option?

Larry McCann answers:

...
I believe so but see if you can get in contact with IRS and ask a rep just to be sure

Lizzie asks?

Will the Turbo Tax Home and Business edition help on quarterly payments?

Will Turbo Tax Home and Business edition help me to determine whether or not I have to make quarterly tax payments?

Will it help me determine what amounts those quarterly payments should be and how to make them?

Larry McCann answers:

Yes. It will base estimates on the assumption that the following year will be a lot like the previous year as far as income, dependents and deductions and credits.

John asks?

How do I add previous estimated quarterly payments (1040ez) while filing taxes via Turbo Tax Home & Business?

While I am doing my taxes using Turbo Tax (Home & Business online) how do I get it to factor in my previous estimated quarterly payments? It looks like the Federal Tax Due and MA Tax Due reflect the amount due before taking into account that I paid for previous quarters. Does it do it automatically? If not, where exactly do I input that info? Thanks!

Larry McCann answers:

Just follow the interview and it will ask you.

Maria asks?

Where to enter my Business Donation in Turbo Tax?

I use Turbo Tax yearly for my Home and LLC business. This year for the first time we made a large donation to our school system via the LLC. But I don't see anywhere in Turbo Tax to add this! I see on the personal side where to add donations, but what should I do on the Business Side?

I googled and searched Turbo Tax questions but it ALL relates to personal donations. But I donated company product to the schools, please help!

Larry McCann answers:

According to a recent webinar I listened to business expenses have to have a business purpose
Corporations are able to make donations that do not exceed 5% of their taxable income
how are you filing the LLC, as a corp, a partnership or sole proprietor?
And unless you purchased two programs, the one you bought will not handle the LLC,as a corp or partnership

Sharon asks?

I have a start up business, its a partnerhip? Should I go to a cpa or can I use turbo tax and do it myself?

I really didnt make much last year from the business but I had expenses on equipment, stationary, promotions to get it going. Is it something I can do myself on turbo tax for deductions or should I go with a cpa to get it right?

Larry McCann answers:

Doing a partnership return is a bit more difficult than a individual return. You can give it a try so you know how difficult it will be.

You can download the 1065 forms from www.irs.gov to see what they look like but to undestand all the available deductions (like Section 179 on Form 4562) it would take a while to get up to speed. Turbo Tax can accelarate the learning process.

Also, if you have a small business it may make sense to go to a CPA in order to have an advisor for other things. For instance, payroll and other business related questions like insurance.

Lisa asks?

Turbo Tax Help or any other software for business?

I'm using all my points today, I have a million questions it seems like today.

For those that have used Turbo Tax, will this allow me to File my business taxes or just regular 9-5 taxes? Do you know of any software similar that might work for business? I a just trying to avoid very large account fees. It's a very simple business so I just need something to allow me to plug in numbers.

If you have any suggestions, I would like to have your opinion of the product you used.

Thanks for your time.

Larry McCann answers:

Try TaxAct

I have narrowed down my choices to Turbotax and Taxact for filing taxes for my businesses. I'm just going to have run each one and see what saves more money.

I hope that helps, and if you do it before I do let me know which one saved you more moolah.

Great Questions Regarding Premium Listing House
http://bit.ly/ndrhOc

Mandy asks?

I live in MD and will be move to Tenn who do I speak to about put my name on list for low income housing?

How many different housing programs is there for low income people living off disability? Do they all require 30% of your gross disability amount. Or is the 30% taken from the amount left over after they take out for your Medicare Premium which in my case is $96.40.

Larry McCann answers:

There are several programs. You can not apply if you do not already reside or work in the county though. You will have to move first.

Jenny asks?

Where can I add my name to health insurance waiting list and what are average waiting times?

In our state we imposed rent controls 10 years ago to help the poor with more affordable housing, and apartments available for rent disappeared from the market for some mysterious reason. I spent 6 years on a waiting list and still my turn never came. To tell you the truth almost all vacancies are filled either through bribes or nepotism.

One week ago our Governor imposed price controls on health care insurance premiums to help the poor with more affordable health care, and policies available for purchases disappeared from the market for some mysterious reason.

Larry McCann answers:

You have the wrong perspective on government assistance. Many cities have public housing waitlists for 10 years long like Los Angeles but there are waitlists for Section 8 vouchers that are another program. That usually takes 4 -5 years. Rent control was not for poor people. It was aimed at preventing price-gouging by unscrupulous owners who could rent for more money but the regulation did not eliminate housing units it enabled middle income people to have housing. If you are middle income you can apply for some programs. The new health insurance plan which helps everyone to be insured starts in 4 years.

Over the years, there has not been enough affordable housing units built to keep up with demand as the economy has put more people into the poverty class. Price controls help everyone except the wealthy. If insurance companies don't issue as many policies, that shows you they are greedy and single-minded and have no social conscience. Price controls don't help the poor because they cannot afford anything to begin with and have their own programs.

There has to be a balance between government interference in private business for social justice, and letting the private market function with wild abandon. Government has limits on its powers. It does not always work out to make everyone happy. We have economists and cost accountants who figure these things out. Otherwise you'd have a country with no laws and no functioning government.

Donna asks?

Can I deduct the points paid on tax refund?

I received a 1098 and it has an amount listed in box 2 under points paid on purchase of principal residence. I just bought the house in August and this 1098 came from the bank I originally bought the house through. They only held the account for one month and sold it to another bank as they do not hold mortgage accounts for longer than 1 month. It also has amounts in the interest received and the mortgage insurance premiums. Any advise?

Larry McCann answers:

Yes they are deductible on schedule A if you have enough to itemize.
Your total itemized deductions should be more than your standard deduction to benefit you. You can claim on schedule A such things a medical expenses in excess of 71/2 of you adjusted gross income, mortgage interest and points, property taxes, sales tax or state and local income tax., Charity, and unreimbursed employee business expenses in excess of 2% of your adjusted gross income.

I am sending you a few links that might be helpful.

Carol asks?

What do you think YOUR monthly Health Premiums will cost?

My daughter has 4 children and she pays 480.00 a month for a family plan. she expects that to more than double under the health care plan.

We have a handicapped child that will raise the new premiums

Rocky Mtn High,
Exactly. I had one child BECAUSE that was how many I felt I could afford and I have always paid cash. I may spend $600 a year and that covers prescriptions!

Larry McCann answers:

Specifically why do you expect your premiums to increase? Because the insurance companies are forced to take sick people with pre-existing conditions and they will pass the cost of paying claims on to everyone else? Well, that is why we should have voted for a public option but the public did not see that as a good solution. It would have pressured the private insurers to reduce their premiums.

Lisa asks?

My house was burglarized on April 13, 08. I have insurance but not a cent has been paid to me..what can I do?

Yes, the premiums were paid and the insurance was in force and yes it was a homeowners policy which covers burglary. I have complied with all of their document requests, listing of all stolen items with pricing on THEIR form, copy of police report, copy of phone log, undergone interview by their own hired investigator, provided company name and info for the hiring of rental truck that was to bring furniture back to our other residence. I have done everything they have asked and they are still "investigating". I am out $50K on this and they still haven't paid me a cent. July 13 will have been three months since the incident....what can I do to get these guys? Help me people!

Larry McCann answers:

50K is a lot of money. I am not surprised they are still investigating.

Have you called them to see how much longer you can expect this to take? Really, that seems to be the only thing you can do at this point. Do you know who the adjuster is? Speak to them directly.

Mary asks?

Can my homeowners insurance REQUIRE receipts for everything taken during a break-in?

I recently had my car broken into in front of my house, as did 7 other neighbors. We had several items taken: Zune, baseball tickets, passport, wallet, noise canceling earphones, sunglasses, prescription glasses, watch (I know it was dumb to have that much stuff in the glove compartment and center console). Anyway, we filed a police report and then filed a insurance claim. I was told to send in a list of items that were lost, approx. how old the items are, and what the cost to replace the item will be. Well, I just received a letter stating I need to provide receipts for the items. I called the insurance office and said I don't have receipts for the Zune but I have a serial #, I don't have a receipt for my passport (I can show pictures of Europe and can provide the stolen passport #), I don't have anything for the noise canceling earphones because they were a Christmas gift, but I can provide info for the watch, glasses, sunglasses. I was told that I need to call my in-laws to ask them for a receipt for the headphones, which I did and they don't have anything (it has been 9 months). I was told I need to figure out something else to provide proof that I had a passport. Is this legit? What can I do? It seems like they are making me out to be the criminal. I have had the same insurance company for my cars and homeowners since 1996 and have not made any claims on either policy! The insurance company sure has no problems collecting my premiums but when something happens they sure don't want to have to pay.

Larry McCann answers:

The federal government keeps records of the passports that they issue. They can look up the passport number in their computer and verify that it was issued to you.

Also, you should immediately report the theft of the passport to the federal agency that issues them, so that they can flag it in their computers to ensure that anyone attempting to use it to enter the U.S. Gets stopped.

Maria asks?

If 2 sisters buy a house together...?

and they are both listed as owners of the property and are both on the mortgage, can only one of them claim the new homeowner credit and the mortgage insurance premiums, taxes, etc or must they split the credits/deductions?

Larry McCann answers:

You claim what you actually paid as far as deductions are concerned. You may split the FTHB credit any way that you choose. A 50-50 split is common but it's up to the two of you to decide. The only restriction is that if either of you are ineligible that person cannot claim any of it. The other could claim the entire credit though since you are not married to each other.

Daniel asks?

Unmarried, co home owners, how would itemizing work?

I have a good question for a tax guru.

Me and my boyfriend co-own a house. We're unmarried (obviously).

We received a statement from our bank which has listed the interest paid...the taxes paid....and the mortgage insurance premiums paid.

I'm wondering if this is any relevance to us and how we should (if we should) go about claiming it. Would just 1 of us be able to itemize it....or would we both have to split it and itemize it? (I believe if we split it and itemize it, it would come out to less than a standard deduction).

Larry McCann answers:

If you both paid the house payments equally you can split the deductions. If he paid all then he deducts all. This is probably better anyway since splitting puts you below the standard deduction. If his SS number is on the 1098 form this should be no problem.

Great Questions Regarding Wsop http://bit.ly/qg7Cqy Sandra asks…How can i start a home tournement to get to the WSOP? There's a great system i heard about. anyone?Home poker tourney information that will lead the winner to the WSOP with spending money. I heard about one through the grapevine.Larry McCann answers:It's just simple math. You need to raise $13,000. This will cover the $10,000 buy in, a hotel for the week, and the flight.

So take the number of players you have, consider the number of times you want to meet each week, and count how many tournaments you have time to have between now and the WSOP.

So for example if there were 20 weeks to go and 10 players:

$13,000 / 20 / 10 = $65 buy in per tournament.

In each tournament award 5 points for first, 3 for second and 2 for third place. At the end of the 20 weeks, the person with the most points gets the money to go to the WSOP.

Consider too that there are much smaller events than the main event. So you might decide to award several prizes for the $1,500 events or satellite events.Carol asks…How do I get tickets to go and watch a pro poker tournament like WSOP?I want to go and watch some live poker, obviously any WSOP would be my ideal but I really want to see some poker stars play live! I want to be one of those people in the background when you watch it on tv, is this possible?!Larry McCann answers:Here are some upcoming WSOP events give'm a call tell them frank sent you

Is it going to be live on TV or something?Larry McCann answers:ESPN wanted them to do it, so they can show all the other event from that year. So that when the time comes for the November 9 to play ESPN would have caught up with them.

Basically, so espn can show the Main Event final table just days after it happens.Nancy asks…How does one qualify for the WSOP Main Event? What is the qualifying process one must go through to make the WSOP Main Event? I realize the minimum age is 21 and I am 19 now but I want to try sometime in my life and I just want to know what the process is. Where can I go to qualify online or perhaps in person?
So if I had a spare $10,000 I would just have to pay that and automatically be in?Larry McCann answers:You can either pay the entry fee ($10000) out of pocket. Or you can win it through a satellite. Which is where you pay a smaller amount to enter for a chance to win your entry fee. This is very popular online as well as in casinos in Vegas (or everywhere really). You can possibly qualify for a few dollars online. But due to US Govt regulations, the online poker sites now will just transfer your entry fee into your account. Linda asks?

Business advice? what is meant by a premium? please read on!?

I was looking at a take away businesses for rent in the local paper. It came to my attention that as well as rent, a ?20,000 premium had been listed on the business. Is any one aware of what this premium is please? is it a one of premium or something that has to be payed yearly? any ideas on what this premium is meant to cover?

I would like to at some point in the future open up a business in the food and catering industry, im was just looking at general prices and research and came across a a unheard concept! :-)

Thank you for reading!

Larry McCann answers:

Yes, the premium is a one-off charge. It's supposed to be some sort of valuation of the business you're taking on. There may be SAV as well - stock at value.

Contact your local Business Link for free help on starting your business. They're particularly good on catering businesses.

Good luck!

Jenny asks?

What is the difference between the ford mustang v6 and v6 premium?

can you list all of the differences? and what they mean? like what is the 6-gauge cluster with MyColor? thanks.

Larry McCann answers:

The V6 Premium offers a lot of visual and electronic upgrades including leather seats, an aluminum and leather wrapped steering wheel, bright aluminum gas/brake/clutch pedals, a gloss painted center stack, chrome speaker surrounds, and upgraded 17 inch machined aluminum wheels. As for the electronics, the premium adds an auto-dimming rear view mirror, sirius satellite radio (with 6 free months), SYNC, the upgraded Shaker 500 8-speaker audio system, and the special MyColor gauge. Right off the bat, the MyColor gauge add a battery meter and oil pressure meter to the standard speedometer, tach, fuel and temperature. The MyColor part lets you customize the color of the lights on pretty much everything in the car, you can pick from somewhere around 125 hues for the gauge background, the needle, the ambient lighting in the foot-wells and the cup holders, and even the illuminated word "Mustang" on the door scuff plates.

Mandy asks?

I was recommended a diet product, and I was wondering if anyone had info or results on the diet pill Lipoplex?

Two people had recommended me this product. I became suspicious when each person gave me a link to the same product, but with different link titles. Both these people told me the trial was free and I only had to pay S&H ($5 or $6). While I was researching the pill I found out if you ordered the product, you'd automatically be put on the "premium consumer list", which meant your credit card would be paying the full price (about $100) if you didn't cancel the order within 14 days. So two questions and a message: does lipoplex work? is it a scam? and beware if it is a scam of these links (http://bit.ly/pyYPsDo http://bit.ly/pZjP4go). Thanks!

Larry McCann answers:

By the way you're describing your experience with the price, it seems like a scam to me. You shouldn't be taking diet pills anyways, it's bad for your health.

George asks?

If you drive an Infiniti G35 between the years of 2000 to 2007 what kind of gas do you use?

Im looking to purchase a 2005 G35 now and im trying to figure out what kind of gas i need to use so that i avoid problems with the car. The cars specs lists "premium unleaded fuel tank" which would mean that i would be paying for the most expensive gas every time i filled up? Would this car really make me trouble if i filled up 87 or 89?

Larry McCann answers:

The coupe needs premium, the sedan wants premium. Over the long term the 87 will damage the coupe due to spark knock and injector wear.

Paul asks?

Premium Bedding?

Saw a listing in a hotel brochure that says "PREMIUM BEDDING". Anyone know what they mean?

Larry McCann answers:

Premium bedding would refer (i believe) To the thread count of the sheets, standard bedding is about 180 -200 thread count (that refers to the number of threads in the weave of the fabric),the higher the thread count the more comfortable the sheets, 400 - 500 to me is nice, but 800 is really nice to slide into. 1000 , to me gets a little stiff until washed about 10 times. Try it!, even go into a high end department stores linen section and ask the sales person to show you the difference.

James asks?

Life insurance question - term life and term life with return of premium?

Hello, my spouse and I are in the market for life insurance now. After some researching, we have pretty much decided to go with term or term return of premium insurance. I still have following to decide and if you could enlighten me on these I would appreciate it very much.

Which company?

I found the following list that's supposed to be the best life insurance companies at this website.

http://bit.ly/oXquG

* New York Life: A++, stable outlook
* Mass Mutual: A++, stable outlook
* State Farm: A++, stable outlook
* Geico: A++, stable outlook

Does this mean I should probably check out these companies? We have State Farm for auto and home insurance. Would State Farm be a good way to go (convenient to have all three in one place)? I also thought Geico didn't offer life insurance. I was led to LifeQuotes page from Geico. Does this mean that this list is not reliable?

How much?

We are 40-45 years old, just We still have almost 30 years of mortgage, and 20 years of raising our son. I was using some calculator online (Kiplinger, Life Foundation?) to calculate how much coverage I need, and they both returned figures like 1+ million. How can this be? Is 1 million life insurance common these days?

We have about 170,000 in remaining mortgage balance (actually I only included half of that in calculation), and I calculated monthly living expense to be 2,000-3,000 (depending on if our child is still with us)/month with my spouse's income to be 2,000/month, and also included college cost. Does this seem reasonable that this will add up to be million dollars in 30 years, with inflation? I was thinking of about 300,000-400,000 before using these calculators.

Term or Term ROP?

We have almost decided against Term ROP and to go with straight term, but are not final on this decision. What do you all think about ROP? With ROP, do we typically actually receive ALL of the premium, or are there any fees etc. subtracted from the refunded amount? Also, does ROP term insurance give you investment returns in addition to the amount of premium you paid? One of the reasons that we are leaning towards straight term is that with our current age, with 20-30 year policies, the likelihood we?ll actually be using the ?death benefit? would be moderately high ? then ROP won?t be such a good deal, as well as hearing that if we just get term and invest the difference in the premium, we?d be ahead of term ROP.

How long?

In this case, should we try to get a 20 year term (for while our son will be with us), or 30 year term, just to cover the full length of the mortgage, although I wouldn?t need that much coverage towards the end of 30 years (our son will be with us for only 20 more years, our mortgage will be paid off except for last 10 years or so)? Or buy 25 year return of premium term policy and pay 5 more years of mortgage using the money we receive from return of premium? Or buy two term policies - a large amount of 20 year policy plus a smaller amount (to cover the remaining mortgage balance in the last 10 years of mortgage)?

Thank you for your help!
Also, would we be able to buy term insurance online from these companies, and have guaranteed conversion and renewal (are these the two things I need?) (when purchased online)? - without going in to the agent's office or having an agent come to the office? One visit for health assessment is fine. We just can't have that many appointments while comparison shopping.

Thanks!
InsurancePickle.com, are you referring to State Farm or Geico when you say not to buy life insurance from a auto insurance company? Could you (or someone else) tell me what would be the disadvantage if I did? Thank you!
To all respondents: Please give me guidance on how to find an insurance agent (not tied to a specific insurance company). Would an online agent like Lifequotes.com, where I can talk to a live person if I'd like by calling an 800 number, be OK?

Larry McCann answers:

You can locate an independent agent by typing in your zip code at the agent locator tab, at www.iiaba.net, to answer your last question first. Sorry, I'm hitting them in opposite order! Online life insurance agents are going to deal with many areas of the country, and probably won't be as familiar with LOCAL options, as a LOCAL agent. Plus, you might get shuffled around the call center, to get to an agent licensed in YOUR state.

I'm not Pickle, but I can tell you State Farm has some of the HIGHEST life insurance rates around. They JUST aren't very competitive.

A million dollars is reasonable.

Regarding those four companies that popped up at the top of the list, sure, check them out - but all it means, is that they PAID to be shown at the top of the list. That's pretty much what you're going to run into, with online rate comparison sites - you'll be steered towards the company that pays the webmaster best.

When you buy insurance online, you can usually do the entire transaction by mail, except for the paramedical exam. And you won't get that, until you've PICKED an insurance company, submitted an application, along with a deposit amount. THEN they'll "verify" your rate for you.

I'm not a fan of ROP term, and I think I explained that in a prior question, in detail.

Look, if you want an "online" experience, I had a pretty good one, at Zander Insurance, and they're licensed in all 50 states. But you've got enough questions and concerns, that honestly, wouldn't you like to be able to develop a relationship with ONE agent that has an office near you, where you can drop by if you have questions or problems? Additionally, with young children involved, maybe it might be worth it to spring for a fee based financial planner, instead, who ISN'T going to try to sell you anything, and will give you TRULY unbiased advice.
