Awesome Questions About Marketing Products To Retailers
http://bit.ly/nR1zoi

Maria asks???

How to sell a product to retailers?

I make unique pillows. What would be the best way to market the product? Is there a company that takes products and "sells" them to the major retailers?

Larry McCann answers:

Copyright!?!? You sure as hell don't need a copyright. They are expensive, overrated, and are certainly no guarantee to making money!!!

What you need is a licensing agreement. That has nothing to do with a copyright. Major companies are always looking for an edge. They will make deals with you to cut you in on the profit so long as you have a worthwhile idea to present (license agreement). It is by no means easy but it can be done. These small to medium sized manufacturing companies are run by people that are no different than you or me. They are out there to make money just like you and me and they are willing to listen to your idea so long as it is a legitimate and marketable idea. If you want to do it on your own you are going to need to do a lot of investigating to find the right manufactors in your part of the country and then call them up. Tell them you have a great idea that they WILL be interested in. They are not going to welcome you in with flowers and truffles. But if you are persistent and you have a legitimate winner on your hands than eventually you will find a company that will give you what you are looking for.

Ken asks???

How do I market my product to internet retailers?

Larry McCann answers:

If you are serious find your market's trade association and plan on exhibiting at their annual and local shows. This is where the buyers come in and find out about new products. It costs a little but you can't find a better place to get your product in front of the buyers at one place.

Jenny asks???

Finding direct marketing companies for bags and fashion products!?

I have a fashion laptop bag product line design by myself. I do both online retailing and wholesale. I am trying to get a marketing company that can carry my line and sell it to chain stores... like how Amway or P&G sell their products to big retailers (walmart, the bay...etc.). Is there marketing companies that can do this for me? What are those companies?

Thanks for answering!

Larry McCann answers:

Ask your designer and marketing friends and they should know someone in your area can take over your product : )

Thomas asks???

Can anyone answer any questions about truck performance accessories retailers in Houston TX?

I just recently bought a Ford F150 Supercrew and am looking to put a few after market products on it to spice it up, both internally (engine/exhaust) and externally (body). I just don't want to spend my entire paycheck and was wondering if anyone would be familiar with a few places to call or look at?

Larry McCann answers:

First try e-bay, sometimes you can get new or slightly used aftermarket products. I bought a short ram air intake that looked almost new for about 1/4 the price of new, plus there are lots of magazines where you can order stuff that you could install yourself and save the installation which is what drives the price up of many aftermarket products.

Sandra asks???

How can a small retailer use the Internet to market its products?

Larry McCann answers:

There are lots of ways.If you have a good unique supplier then try Ebay. Also craigslist.org and Kajiji. Make a blog and talk about your individual products. Type internet marketing in google and read as much as you can. But be careful of scams of course by doing your research first.
