Helen asks???
how can i increase traffic to my web store ?
I opened a web store a few weeks ago. I am in the process of getting on google adwords to increase traffic to my site. I was wondering if anyone on here knew of any other ways to get more customers to the site. The web site is a womens boutique that sells lingerie and other womens apparel. What I've used so far to try to get customers is facebook, twitter and the google adwords. Please let me know of any ideas you may have. Thank you for your time.
Larry McCann answers:
You have got a good start by owning a website and using Adwords.
Here are other useful, proven and effective ways to increase traffic to your web store:-
1. Article (write about your stuff and leave behind your website address)
2. Social networking (network with relevant sites that have many fiends and fans)
3. Forum posting (start a new thread or comment on relevant topics and leave behind your website address)
4. Blog comments (start a new thread or comment on relevant topics and leave behind your website address)
5. Video sites (create either a simple or sophisticated video about it and promote your videos online)
6. List of High Traffic Free Classifieds Directory or Free Community Classifieds (get a good recommended list as per professional webmasters advice, aim / prioritize your publicity in biggest or largest classifieds).
Donna asks???
Will my idea on GETTING a lot OF WEB TRAFFIC work?
USING FREE ARTICLES
If you talk a bit about the article and then box the article with a link to their site "unedited" and you still place the keywords in the right spots on the page and use profitable keywords can you STILL rank using their content or will google frown on this?
Larry McCann answers:
It really depends on your authority and trust levels
If you have original content that rank very well -- and then occasionally use free articles that 1,000s of other sites have already used -- then you can have a chance of ranking well even for those articles
But if you don't have any original content and Google sees that your content is merely rehashed content (or 90% similar to 1000s other websites), then you can't expect to get a lot of web traffic to this approach
My site produces mostly original articles, though we accept (or used to actively accept author submissions). Since we rank well in our niche, I find our pages where we published these authors' submissions to get better rankings in the search engines for other websites or even the authors' own websites
Have something unique and original, then add a little of these free articles. But 100% free articles, that will get you nowhere

how do i can get traffic to my web site/blog?
wats the method to do this traffic? any usefull web site to learn?
any different ideas?
Larry McCann answers:
"If you build it, they will come" is not necessarily true on the Web. Putting a website up is one thing, but getting visitors to come to your site is another. The process becomes even more difficult if you have limited resources to market your business.
You can try pay per click programs such as Google Adwords http://bit.ly/lksIG or Yahoo Search Marketing http://bit.ly/9vGLPd ??? though the key is to carefully track your ROI and which keywords actually perform well
Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:
1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement - if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.
2. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important -- and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more - that's additional traffic that you get for FREE!

3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.

4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

5. Submit articles. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

Paul asks???
How does one improve web-site traffic by spending the least amount of money?
Adwords is expensive, e-mail blasts lead to spam, poster campaign is flakey, sms blast has high drop rate, SEO is a good option, but too competitive....building community is one good idea...how does one go about it? Any more ideas? How did Craigs List do it?
Larry McCann answers:
Craigslist did it by offering a service a huge number of people actually need and want. Word of mouth helped spread the word about Craigslist
If you want the least expense, the best way to improve site traffic is to create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement - if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.
Start with great content -- that's the VERY BASIC. With unique and create content,
- people will spread the word to others about your website
- people will put your site in social bookmarking sites such as Digg
- you can get top natural search engine rankings without you spending for pay per click
Otherwise, there are other ways you can help jumpstart traffic to your site
1. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important -- and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Jenny asks???
Which is the most efficient ways to generate web site traffic?
Forums, press releases, social Media, social network, blogging or video marketing. Share your views and ideas.
Larry McCann answers:
By creating properties at Web 2.0 platforms.
If you can master the art of writing content, then you will be fine. Create as many articles on the related topic as you can.. And submit them to article directories, and link the articles to your site!
Where do you create these mini-sites?... At Web 2.0 properties such as Squidoo.com, Blogger.com, ect..
And, don't forget to ping them and submit the RSS feeds to aggregators.
